This birdbath is a winner for many reasons. I love the design which is elegant in its simplicity. It gives the appearance of a heavier more expensive material but the best thing is that plastic is easy to clean. In Florida, we have problems with algae and mildew which can ruin the beauty of normal birdbaths quickly. Also, the Florida sun can just about boil the water in a metal birdbath where a light color plastic is ideal. It has been in place for over two months and the water wiggler has kept it clean as well as prevented our mosquito population from increasing. It took the birds a while to get used to it. It is winter now so I have only noticed them drinking from it but am sure that they will be bathing as soon as the weather warms up.I used sand as ballast and then covered the opening with duct tape. I then set it on a round patio block so it is very stable. Not all the screw holes lined up but that was not a problem as the screws easily made new holes where needed. [...]. I couldn't be more pleased with this particular birdbath as far as beauty, quality, and price and MADE IN USA!

I am happy with my purchase. I admire the beautiful fluted design of this white simple bird bath, which is a good size. I decided to organize the bird bath as the center piece of my backyard and put blooming flowers around it. The beauty and focus has increased my enjoyment of my yard. The wiggler works fine, as well, but I was a bit concerned about it for inclement weather. It seems to me that the lightweight wiggler would not be good for rain, wind, or monsoons. I think the wiggler is great for nice, calm weather and attracts butterflies.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      I placed sand in base. Inconvenient but gave it the weight it needed. Very light. Top does not secure properly. Tilted all the time, even just slowly adding water, nevermind when birds landed. Water wiggler is great to attract birds with rippling effect but in autumn, leaves would blow into bowl and clog wiggler up. Batteries need frequent replacement. Not the manufacturer's fault but the issues w/the wiggler didn't last long. No way to secure it to the base, you just set in it and mine was stolen within two weeks.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
